Citrus Juicers

  • How many oranges it would take to make a 16oz glass of OJ with the OrangeX (pro model) using typical oranges from a supermarket?
  • Can you compare the OrangeX Juicers vs the Chef's Juicer? Do you think the difference in performance on these two machinese justifies the difference in price?

How many oranges it would take to make a 16oz glass of OJ with the OrangeX (pro model) using typical oranges from a supermarket?
About 4-5 oranges. I use organic valencia oranges.

Can you compare the OrangeX Juicers vs the Chef's Juicer? Do you think the difference in performance on these two machinese justifies the difference in price?
Well I have used both machines. The chefs juicer more "sleek"- ie chromed dipped, etc, but we have had some problems with the "base" cracking, since it is made of thin cast metal, and not very sturdy.

Performance wise, they do about the same, since they are both presses. On the chefs juicer, you must use their cup that comes with it, whereas on the orangex, you can use any cup.. The orangex unit is larger, but easier to use, because you get more leverage with the way the unit is set up. We do feel it is worth the extra $$$.
